Arvada Overnight Weather Shelter (External Partner)
We are a coalition of churches committed to feeding and sheltering our unhoused neighbors on the coldest winter

Our city didn’t have an overnight shelter to provide a safe place for homeless vulnerable individuals to stay. This meant they had to face bad weather, safety risks, and the stress of not knowing where they could sleep. The lack of shelter showed a big problem in our community’s support system and the need for a solution to help people without a home.
We work together with many different churches and denominations, building strong connections to support our community. Our church members step up to help in various ways, making sure those in need receive care and support. When the shelter is open, we welcome guests and provide a warm, safe space for them to stay. We also prepare and serve meals to make sure they have nourishing food. Our volunteers dedicate their time to keeping the shelter safe and running smoothly, ensuring that everyone feels comfortable and cared for.
By volunteering at the overnight winter shelter, we are providing a lifeline to people who would otherwise be exposed to dangerously cold temperatures. Without a warm place to stay, many individuals would be at risk of serious health issues like hypothermia or even death. By opening our doors, offering warm meals, and creating a safe environment, we are quite literally saving lives. Our work ensures that no one has to face the brutal winter nights alone, giving them a chance to rest, recover, and stay safe until they can find more stable housing.
