Poverty

Based on the U.S. Census Bureau’s estimates for 2021, 37.9 million Americans lived below the poverty threshold while 20.3 million of those lived in deep poverty at less than half of the threshold. Poverty has strong links to health outcomes, job opportunities, food security, and violent crime.
