In our region, we have identified numerous fundamental needs that impact the lives of our residents on a daily basis. Food insecurity is prevalent, and many households require financial assistance to cover basic living expenses. Persistent challenges such as unemployment and underemployment continue to affect our community.
Recent influxes of immigrants to our area have also significantly broadened the scope of these needs. Many migrants require support with language, education, social integration, and various other areas.
At The Healing Center, we're addressing social, financial, emotional, and spiritual poverty in the tri-state region of Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky.
Our comprehensive services include an adult health clinic for uninsured individuals, educational programs to support GED attainment and language learning, coaching for job readiness and financial management, a food pantry, a clothing closet, and invitation-based prayer experiences.
We believe our role is not to transform people, but instead to create an environment where transformation can occur. We are dedicated to crafting experiences that nurture dignity and foster connection. Whether through our community grocery shopping or boutique clothing experiences, we prioritize building an environment that transcends transactional resource distribution.
Our staff of 10 is supported by 400 volunteers who serve up to 3,000 unique families at least once a month, often on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
Whether you want to serve in a weekly or bi-weekly role or bring your small group, work group, or school group to serve as a team we need you. The Healing Center is a place where we will encourage you as a volunteer to use your gifts, skills, and talents to serve others.
